The City of Atlantic City proudly honored Women’s History Month by recognizing the leaders, trailblazers, and changemakers who have shaped the community. Throughout March, the city celebrated the strength, leadership, and achievements of remarkable women, reaffirming its commitment to equality and empowerment.

Atlantic City High School recently celebrated International Mother Language Day, recognizing the 41 languages and dialects spoken within its community. With insightful presentations from students, the event highlighted the beauty of linguistic diversity and cultural heritage.

The College and Career Fair at Atlantic City High School gave students a chance to secure instant college acceptances, explore career opportunities, and connect with industry professionals. The event, which featured representatives from 100 institutions, provided workshops and resources to guide students in their post-secondary decisions.

The Seed Planting Workshop at Atlantic City Senior Services brought seniors together for a day of creativity and learning. They painted their own plant pots, planted basil and spinach seeds, and took home additional seeds and gardening supplies. A raffle added to the fun, with prizes including a Nutribullet blender and a DIY microgreens home growing kit.

Atlantic City Public Schools celebrated School Social Workers Week, honoring the dedication and hard work of social workers in supporting students and families. Their impact was felt throughout the district, with appreciation events and heartfelt messages recognizing their invaluable contributions.

During Women’s History Month and Youth Art Month, Atlantic City celebrated murals by women artists and youth collaborations. One standout was "You Make the World a Better Place", created by Chanelle René and young artists from Mighty Writers, now displayed at Cali’s General Store in Chelsea.

Thanks to the Michael Phelps Foundation, 50 Club members in grades 3-6 gained lifesaving swim skills at the Brigantine Aquatic Center. Now, they walk away with medals, confidence, and a skill that could one day save a life.

Day 4 of the event showcased the College & Career Fair, where students explored schools and job opportunities. Stockton University stood out by offering instant decision options, making the day even more rewarding for students planning their next steps.

Local leaders were honored during Atlantic City’s Women’s Empowerment Luncheon, where community, culture, and financial literacy took center stage. The event recognized impactful women and fostered a spirit of inspiration and unity.

February was a deep dive into Art, Culture, and Black History, concluding with a screening of Summer of Soul. Senior Services wrapped up the month-long celebration with an engaging Movie Day at the Whitman Branch of the Philadelphia Free Library.

Day 3 of the event celebrated Sports, College & Career Readiness, where students engaged with sports professionals and athletes to gain insights into their future. The panel discussion provided essential tips on preparing for college and careers beyond high school.

Mayor Marty Small Sr. and the St. Patrick’s Day Planning Squad unveiled thrilling details about this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which took place on March 8th. Atlantic City went all out in green, bringing the community together for a vibrant and unforgettable celebration.

We wrapped up Black History Month with a visit to AAMP, where we explored the powerful stories of Audacious Freedom and the stunning artistry of Shared Vision. This experience was a profound reminder of the resilience and beauty of Black history and culture.

Our Black Business Expo was a great success, bringing together vendors and the Clubs and Community for an unforgettable experience. Thank you to all who participated and supported this empowering event!

The Winter Arts Mixer at Anchor Rock Club was an unforgettable night celebrating Atlantic City’s vibrant arts scene. From the premiere of ACAF’s 100th Mural Documentary to a stunning showcase of local talent, it was an inspiring evening filled with creativity and connection.
