Mayor Marty Small, Sr. officially announced changes for this summer’s highly anticipated BRT Weekend in Atlantic City. The weekend-long music festival, originally expected to take place on Chelsea Avenue Beach in front of the Ocean Club Condominiums, was relocated to Missouri Avenue Beach. The event successfully ran from July 11-13, drawing crowds to the new venue.

During the announcement, Mayor Small also stated that no large or medium-scale events would be held on the beach in front of the Ocean Club moving forward. This decision reflected the City's commitment to addressing concerns from local residents and ensuring the best possible experience for visitors and homeowners alike.

In addition to the event relocation, the City entered early discussions regarding the future of the Chelsea Beach Bar. Officials considered permanently moving the popular bar to another Boardwalk location. However, for the summer season, the Chelsea Beach Bar continued to operate from its existing site under its current lease.

The relocation to Missouri Avenue Beach provided a larger, more central space for festival-goers, contributing to improved traffic flow, security measures, and overall guest experience during BRT Weekend.

Mayor Small emphasized the City's focus on sustainable event planning, community responsiveness, and preserving Atlantic City’s beach areas for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors.

City officials also pointed out that while permanent decisions about Chelsea Beach Bar were still under discussion, they aimed to create a plan that balanced the needs of the business community with the quality of life of nearby residents.

The successful hosting of BRT Weekend at Missouri Avenue Beach set a positive precedent for future large-scale events in Atlantic City. Feedback from attendees, businesses, and local leaders was overwhelmingly supportive of the new location.

Looking ahead, Atlantic City’s administration remains committed to proactive event management, transparency with residents, and fostering a vibrant summer experience for everyone.

Mayor Small’s leadership and the City’s quick adjustments were credited with ensuring another memorable and safe summer in Atlantic City.
