Over the past year, Atlantic City Senior Services had the pleasure of welcoming many new seniors to their program. To celebrate this growth, some of the new members were recently invited to a special cooking class held this past Thursday.
The class was taught by Chef Craig of Leavander's 22 Southern Cuisine Restaurant and took place at The Claridge Hotel, a landmark location in Atlantic City. It was an opportunity not only to learn new culinary skills but also to bond and build community among the newest program participants.
During the class, seniors learned how to make traditional wontons, exploring their origins and cultural significance. Chef Craig guided everyone through the hands-on experience, making the session both educational and enjoyable.
After the cooking lesson, participants were treated to a delicious dinner, where they could sample the wontons they made and continue socializing in a warm, welcoming environment.
The event demonstrated how Atlantic City Senior Services continues to create meaningful and memorable experiences for its members. By offering activities like these, the program encourages learning, connection, and personal growth.
For many, the highlight of the evening was not just the new recipe they added to their repertoire, but the friendships formed and the shared laughter around the dinner table.
The event reinforced the organization's mission: to provide seniors with opportunities for social engagement, enrichment, and community support.
Atlantic City Senior Services expressed gratitude to Chef Craig and Leavander's 22 Southern Cuisine Restaurant for partnering with them to make this event a success.
Anyone interested in joining the program is encouraged to call 609-347-5458 and become part of a vibrant and supportive senior community.
