Atlantic City Public Schools is continuing to modernize its facilities, recently completing $34 million in upgrades across all 11 schools and breaking ground on a new $27.2 million administration building.
The school improvements were completed over the summer following individual assessments to determine the specific needs of each building. While every school received upgrades, the scope of work varied by location and included renovated restrooms, locker rooms, classrooms, gymnasiums, entrances and playgrounds. Select schools also received new heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, boilers and roofs.

The improvements extend beyond essential repairs, creating brighter, more welcoming learning environments for students and staff. Atlantic City High School received brand-new locker room facilities for student-athletes, while several schools now feature state-of-the-art electronic gaming facilities.
Building on that progress, the district broke ground Wednesday on its new three-story, 29,500-square-foot administration building at New Jersey and Arctic avenues, on the site of the former New Jersey Avenue School.
The $27.2 million facility will centralize key district operations, including the Business Office, Operations, Human Resources and Continuing Education, while providing a dedicated space for Board of Education meetings.
Together, the projects reflect the district’s focus on providing students with quality learning environments while modernizing the facilities that support educators, families and school operations.
