Week 3 of Great Day Summer Camp, hosted by the City of Atlantic City Multicultural Services, offered a full lineup of exploration, creativity, and hands-on fun for campers of all ages. Each day introduced a new theme and set of activities designed to inspire, educate, and engage — and the results were nothing short of amazing.
Monday kicked off with Nature Day, where campers painted planter pots and planted their own succulents to take home. With dirt on their hands and smiles on their faces, they learned the importance of caring for living things and the joy of nurturing their own plants.
On Tuesday, the camp moved into a more artistic space with a visit to the Noyes Arts Garage. The spotlight was on Vincent van Gogh, as campers experimented with the impasto technique and created textured paintings inspired by the master himself. The creativity was flowing, and the results were colorful and deeply personal works of art.
Wednesday brought an extra dose of adventure. Our K–2 campers stepped into fantasy at Storybook Land, where fairy tales came alive through rides and attractions. Meanwhile, our 3rd–6th graders experienced the awe of the Atlantic City Airshow, watching jets soar across the sky in an unforgettable aerial performance.
The week wrapped up with a trip to the Cape May Zoo on Thursday. Surrounded by animals and lush greenery, campers enjoyed an up-close look at wildlife while learning about conservation and animal habitats. From lions to lemurs, every encounter was met with excitement and curiosity.
Every day of camp was more than just fun — it was a chance for campers to express themselves, connect with others, and explore the world around them. The thoughtful programming ensured that each child walked away with both memories and meaningful experiences.
The week’s theme may have been about nature, art, and adventure, but the heart of it was connection — to creativity, to community, and to each other.
It truly was a Great Day week. We’re so proud of what our campers accomplished and experienced, and we can’t wait to share what’s in store for Week 4.
Stay tuned — the adventure continues!
