While crowds gathered to witness the awe-inspiring performances at the Atlantic City Air Show and joined in the energy of the Soar & Shore Festival, another group was hard at work — out of the spotlight but at the center of every secure moment. These were Atlantic City’s First Responders.

From the early planning stages to the final jet flyover, the Atlantic City Police Department, Atlantic City Professional Firefighters NJ FMBA Local 8, Atlantic City Beach Patrol, and the Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management, along with their partners from the New Jersey State Police, Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management, U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, and AtlantiCare, played critical roles in safeguarding the community.

Their commitment to public safety was visible in every direction — from patrolling the boardwalk to managing emergency response points and keeping swimmers safe. They ensured that the festive atmosphere remained just that: joyful, not chaotic.

This level of coordination and calm professionalism doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects countless hours of training, preparation, and a shared goal: to serve and protect. These teams worked together seamlessly to manage crowds, monitor weather changes, respond to incidents, and provide medical assistance when needed.

The calm presence of these men and women reassured both residents and visitors alike. Their visibility and vigilance meant that families could focus on enjoying the shows and the shoreline, knowing that their safety was in good hands.

Whether in uniform on the beach, in emergency vehicles throughout the city, or operating behind the scenes at command centers, these responders never paused — even as the celebration continued.

Thanks to their work, the week’s events concluded without major incident, making it one of the most successful and secure air show festivals to date.

We recognize and appreciate every individual who contributed their time, skills, and presence to make this possible.

To every first responder involved, the City of Atlantic City thanks you. Your efforts did not go unnoticed.

Atlantic City is proud to have you standing watch over our city.
