Mayor Small Highlights Crime Reduction at NOBLE Region I Conference in Atlantic City

Mayor Small and Atlantic City Police Department Chief Sarkos were among the featured speakers at the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Region I Conference, held at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. The event brought together law enforcement leadership from across the country for a week of collaboration, dialogue, and strategic planning.

During his address, Mayor Small officially welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized the importance of unity and innovation in public safety. He also took the opportunity to spotlight the progress being made locally, including a notable 11-percent decrease in crime during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

Mayor Small praised the Atlantic City Police Department for its proactive efforts and commitment to community policing, crediting the decrease in crime to strategic partnerships and data-driven approaches. Chief Sarkos also underscored the department’s dedication to transparency and ongoing reform efforts aimed at building public trust.

The presence of national law enforcement leaders, combined with the celebration of Atlantic City’s local achievements, made the conference a meaningful moment of recognition and forward momentum for the city.
