Public safety continues to be one of the City of Atlantic City's top priorities, and one of the strongest reasons Atlantic City is a great place to live, work and invest. As the busy summer season gets underway, the Atlantic City is once again demonstrating that commitment through enhanced public safety efforts.
The Atlantic City Beach Patrol is fully staffed, sworn in and on duty for the summer, with guarded beaches on every block to provide the highest level of protection for residents and visitors. Every day, beach patrol personnel stand ready to respond to emergencies, educate beachgoers on water safety and help ensure families can enjoy Atlantic City's world-famous beaches with confidence. Beaches are guarded daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Recognizing the increased activity that comes with the summer tourism season, the City of Atlantic City, Atlantic City Police Department and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) have once again partnered to expand police coverage throughout the Tourism District.
Through a $6.3 million investment, funded by the city and CRDA, the 2026 Tourism District Policing Unit (TDPU) provides a dedicated law enforcement presence from May through October, when visitor activity is at its highest. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to maintaining a safe environment while supporting Atlantic City's tourism economy and quality of life.
The TDPU deploys 20 dedicated officers during May, June, September and October, expanding to 32 officers during the peak summer months of July and August. Officers patrol seven days a week from 7:00 AM until 3:00 AM, utilizing traditional patrol vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and bicycle patrols to provide high visibility throughout the Tourism District.

The enhanced deployment allows officers to engage proactively with residents, visitors and businesses while responding quickly to incidents and maintaining a strong presence in areas that experience the greatest foot traffic during the summer.
For residents, enhanced public safety means peace of mind while enjoying parks, beaches, neighborhoods and community events. For businesses, it creates an environment where customers and employees feel comfortable visiting and working. For developers and investors, it demonstrates a city committed to protecting its assets and supporting continued economic growth.
Public safety is one of the foundations upon which strong communities are built, and Atlantic City continues to make it a priority through strategic partnerships, thoughtful investments and dedicated public servants.
