Free Workshop Demonstrates Atlantic City's Investment in Its Small Business Community

Atlantic City continues putting its money and resources behind its small business community, creating opportunities that go well beyond simply encouraging residents to shop local.

That commitment was on display as the city hosted its latest Economic Development Seminar Series: Makers & Marketing, bringing local entrepreneurs together for networking, education and practical marketing tools they can use to grow their businesses.

The event included a free marketing workshop led by Joe Molineaux and an opportunity for business owners to connect with one another and learn about resources available to them.

Makers & Marketing is just one part of Atlantic City’s broader effort to support entrepreneurs. The City has provided $900,000 in small business micro-grants, created a Small Business Academy to provide education and resources, and launched the Black Business Expo to give local entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their businesses and connect with customers.

These programs reflect a simple philosophy: if Atlantic City wants its small businesses to succeed, the city has to give them the tools and opportunities to do it.

While communities across the country talk about supporting small businesses, Atlantic City is putting programs, funding and platforms in place to make that support tangible.
