The City of Atlantic City, under the leadership of Mayor Marty Small, Sr., continued its mission to empower residents by offering free programs designed to enhance career readiness and support local business growth. Through partnerships with community organizations and development offices, the city hosted a series of workshops and seminars in November 2025 that helped participants gain valuable skills and opportunities.
One of the highlighted initiatives was the Resume Building Workshop held on November 12th. Organized by the City of Atlantic City’s Job Readiness & Employment Resource Program under the CDBG office, in collaboration with Jewish Family Service (JFS), the event guided participants in creating professional resumes, discovering job leads, and receiving targeted training to increase employability. A follow-up session was also scheduled for December 9th at the PAL Building.
The Path to Employment Workshop, conducted on November 13th at the AtlantiCare Medical Arts Pavilion, brought together the City of Atlantic City Job Readiness & Employment Resource Program and Midtown CDC to provide comprehensive guidance on job preparedness. The workshop focused on helping residents boost confidence, explore career options, and strengthen their résumés. Participants also had another opportunity to join a similar workshop on December 18th.
For local entrepreneurs, the Media Skills for Entrepreneurs seminar offered practical training in public relations and brand promotion. Hosted by the City of Atlantic City Economic Development Office as part of the Planning and Development Seminar Series, this workshop took place on November 13th at Beat the Daily Grind Cafe. Attendees learned how to write compelling press releases, connect with media professionals, and strategically build brand visibility.
These programs reflected the city’s ongoing efforts to provide accessible and impactful learning opportunities. By collaborating with local organizations, Atlantic City demonstrated its strong commitment to fostering personal and professional growth among its residents.
The series not only supported job seekers but also created pathways for small business owners to thrive in the local economy. With resources like these, participants were able to enhance their skills and confidence, setting the stage for greater success in their respective fields.
Through consistent initiatives like the Planning and Development Seminar Series, the city proved that community collaboration and accessible education can create lasting change. Each session was a step forward in promoting economic development and empowering individuals to take control of their future.
By offering workshops focused on real-world needs—such as resume writing, job readiness, and media engagement—the City of Atlantic City continued to pave the way for a stronger, more connected community.
Residents who participated left equipped with the tools to pursue better opportunities, while entrepreneurs gained insights that would help their businesses stand out and grow sustainably.
These free programs exemplified Atlantic City’s dedication to supporting every member of the community—whether entering the workforce, changing careers, or growing a business.
