The City of Atlantic City’s Department of Public Works officially kicked off the annual Leaf Collection Season last weekend, beginning in the Lower Chelsea neighborhood. The initiative aimed to help residents maintain clean surroundings as the fall season brought an abundance of leaves across the city.
Starting on Saturday, October 18th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, city crews made their rounds to collect leaves that residents had placed along curbs and streets. This effort was part of a citywide schedule that ensured each neighborhood would receive dedicated collection days in the coming weeks.
Residents were encouraged to actively participate by blowing or raking their leaves to the curb or street on their designated dates. Once in place, the Department of Public Works took charge of collecting and properly disposing of them, helping to prevent clogged drains, improve neighborhood cleanliness, and support environmental upkeep.
The city emphasized the importance of cooperation during this seasonal program, reminding residents that properly placed leaves would make collection more efficient and help maintain the beauty of local communities.
The Public Works team also assured the public that additional neighborhood collection dates would be announced as soon as they became available, keeping everyone informed through official channels.
As the city transitioned deeper into the autumn season, the initiative served as a reminder of the City of Atlantic City’s commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and attractive neighborhoods.
The Leaf Collection Season demonstrated how community collaboration and proactive planning could make a visible difference in keeping Atlantic City beautiful.
The program also reinforced the city’s ongoing dedication to environmental care and the well-being of its residents, ensuring that seasonal changes were handled efficiently and responsibly.
This annual initiative continues to be a valued effort, fostering community pride and enhancing the city’s overall appearance during the fall months.
