The energy was palpable at Atlantic City High School on Monday, November 17, 2025, as the school’s marching band successfully set a spirited tone for the annual College and Career Week kickoff pep rally.

The gymnasium was immediately energized by the sounds and sights of the event. The Atlantic City High School cheerleaders performed dynamic routines, and the school's athletic teams were introduced, drawing loud applause from their classmates and staff. The rally officially launched a vital week dedicated to inspiring students to explore their future options.

Donald Harris, director of secondary education, underscored the importance of the week, noting that students not only enjoyed the activities but also benefited significantly from the exposure to post-secondary pathways. “It was always an exciting week,” Harris said. “It gave students a valuable chance to seriously consider what was available to them after high school.”

The week-long celebration was a collaborative success, organized through the joint efforts of Atlantic City High School and the City of Atlantic City’s Youth Services Department. Christina Noble, the Director of Youth Services, stated that organizers made a conscious effort to keep the annual event fresh.

“We featured a new university this year, one with a larger band and a larger cheer squad,” Noble commented. “We also really wanted to showcase the Atlantic City High School band’s incredible talent.”

The undeniable highlight of the entire kickoff event came when the renowned Bowie State University Symphony of Soul marching band took center court. The celebrated Maryland-based ensemble traveled north specifically to deliver an absolutely electrifying performance that left the entire student body inspired and roaring with excitement.

This successful pep rally marked the start of a series of thoughtfully designed activities aimed at motivating students to explore college, career, and trade pathways. The week included college and career prep workshops, an athletic panel, and the “A Day in the Life” series featuring professionals, all culminating with a comprehensive College, Career and Trade Fair. The kickoff successfully launched a week that was dedicated to helping students realize their potential and plan for their futures.
