Success stories in Atlantic City come in many forms. For Atlantic City resident and longtime Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City member Aryiane Hill, that success story has now earned national praise.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America recently named Aryiane the 2026 Northeast Youth of the Year, one of the organization's highest honors. The award recognizes outstanding young leaders who demonstrate excellence in academics, service, leadership, and commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. The achievement places Aryiane among the most accomplished teen leaders in the region and comes with a $20,000 college scholarship as she advances to compete for the National Youth of the Year title later this year.
While the honor recognizes Aryiane's individual accomplishments, it also shines a spotlight on the many community institutions and mentors that help young people in Atlantic City realize their potential.
An 11-year member of the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, Aryiane first joined the organization as a kindergartner. Over the years, she found not only educational opportunities and leadership development programs, but also mentors who encouraged her to believe in herself and pursue her goals. She credits her longtime mentor, Ms. Karen (pictured below with Ariyane), with helping her develop confidence, a love of learning, and the courage to use her voice to advocate for others.

Today, Aryiane is known as a student leader, mentor, and advocate who has dedicated herself to helping those around her. Through programs such as Keystone Club and Junior Staff, she learned valuable leadership skills, mentored younger members, and developed a passion for civic engagement and public service.
Her accomplishments extend far beyond the Boys & Girls Club. Throughout high school, Aryiane has participated in public speaking engagements, community service projects, and civic leadership initiatives. She has also served as President of her school's Future Educators Club and as a leadership officer in JROTC. This fall, she plans to attend Stockton University, where she will study Political Science before pursuing a career as a criminal defense attorney. Her goal is to advocate for individuals whose voices are often overlooked and ensure they receive fair representation.
Aryiane's story reflects the impact that access to opportunity can have on a young person's future. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of investing in youth programs that provide mentorship, guidance, and a supportive environment for personal growth.
For Atlantic City, her achievement is a source of pride and a powerful example of what can happen when talented young people are given the resources and encouragement to succeed. As Aryiane prepares to represent the Northeast region on the national stage, she carries with her not only her own accomplishments, but also the support of a community that has watched her grow into an inspiring leader.
Her journey is proof that Atlantic City's future is in capable hands.
