Atlantic City has long built its reputation on knowing how to put on a show, and the 38th annual Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 7th proved once again that no one does large-scale celebrations quite like the seaside resort.
The 2026 edition of the popular parade turned the world-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk into a sea of green as more than 50,000 residents and visitors gathered to celebrate Irish pride, community spirit, and the return of warmer days at the shore. Families lined the boardwalk, bands marched, and local organizations filled the route with enthusiasm. In total, there were more than 80 participants in this year’s parade.

The massive turnout highlighted something Atlantic City has always done well: bringing people together for memorable events.
Local bars, restaurants, and shops saw a surge of customers throughout the weekend. Businesses across the city flourished, benefiting from the influx of visitors and the festive atmosphere that started well before the parade began, and carried on into the evening and beyond.
Participation from local and regional groups helped make the parade especially memorable. Community organizations, cultural groups, marching bands, and civic leaders all took part, reinforcing the strong community spirit that defines Atlantic City. City leadership also played a visible role in the celebration.

Mayor Marty Small, Sr. marched alongside participants, joined by representatives from multiple city departments, underscoring the collaborative effort required to host gatherings of this scale, along with the city’s full support behind the Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.
Just as importantly, the weekend served as a reminder of Atlantic City’s economic potential. When tens of thousands of visitors flood the boardwalk for major events, the impact is felt immediately by restaurants, retailers, entertainment venues, and hospitality businesses. Events like the St. Patrick’s Day Parade demonstrates the kind of built-in audience and foot traffic that many cities simply can’t match.
For entrepreneurs and companies looking to expand or open a new location, it’s a compelling example of why Atlantic City should be on their radar. The city’s ability to consistently draw large crowds through signature events creates natural opportunities for businesses to thrive.

And the St. Patrick’s Day festivities are just the beginning.
Atlantic City’s event calendar is quickly filling up as warmer weather approaches. The return of the iconic Atlantic City Airshow in May is expected to once again draw massive crowds to the shoreline, while beach concerts also return this summer. The city is also building a new holiday tradition. Following a successful debut this past winter, the Atlantic City Holiday Parade & Market is gaining momentum and already generating excitement for its return during the holiday season.
When it comes to hosting massive events, and creating opportunities for local businesses, Atlantic City isn’t just experiencing the luck of the Irish. Atlantic City is king of these situations.
