The Atlantic City Public Schools district held its annual Fall Convocation on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. This year’s theme, Moving With Purpose, inspired staff, educators, and administrators to begin the school year with intentionality and focus.
The event brought together district leaders and faculty to reflect on the values guiding the new academic year. At the heart of the program was the incorporation of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, a framework originally developed by retired educator and businessman Stephen Covey.

During the convocation, school leaders emphasized the importance of aligning daily actions with long-term goals, encouraging all staff to carry the principles of purpose, responsibility, and collaboration into their classrooms and offices.
The gathering served as more than just a ceremonial start to the year. It was an opportunity to reinforce a shared vision of academic success, community engagement, and professional growth for everyone involved in the education of Atlantic City students.
Speakers highlighted how the Seven Habits can positively influence teaching practices, decision-making, and leadership within the schools. By connecting the habits to real-world challenges faced in education, the district provided staff with tools to become more effective in their roles.

Faculty and staff were reminded that Moving With Purpose meant not only striving for student achievement but also cultivating stronger relationships with families and the broader community. The theme underscored the district’s commitment to holistic growth and long-term progress.
By closing with a message of unity and shared responsibility, the Fall Convocation left participants energized and prepared to begin the academic year with renewed determination and focus.
