Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD) participated in Public Service Professions Career Week by visiting both Boys & Girls Club locations in Atlantic City to engage with local students and share insights about careers in law enforcement.
Throughout the week, NCO Officer D. White, K9 M. Braxton, SRO Officer R. Sime, K9 Officer A. Nunez, and K9 Officer B. Dooley spent time speaking with students about the responsibilities and rewards of serving their community as police officers.
One of the highlights of the visit was a live demonstration showcasing the impressive skills of the department’s K9 partners, giving students a firsthand look at how these highly trained dogs assist officers in maintaining safety and solving crimes.
The interactive sessions allowed students to ask questions, learn about different areas of police work, and better understand the teamwork and dedication required to protect the community.

By meeting officers face-to-face, students gained valuable perspective on the importance of public service, as well as the personal commitment it takes to make a positive difference in the city.
The visits also fostered trust and communication between young residents and law enforcement, reinforcing the ACPD’s goal of building meaningful relationships with Atlantic City’s youth.
Officers shared their personal experiences in the field, encouraging students to pursue careers in public service and explore their own potential to contribute to their community.
The Boys & Girls Club provided a welcoming and engaging environment where students could interact with the officers and see the human side of policing beyond the badge.
These educational visits served as a reminder that community connection begins with conversation, understanding, and shared learning.
The Atlantic City Police Department expressed gratitude to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City for the invitation and the opportunity to inspire and connect with the next generation of leaders.
