In addition to the walk, the city unveiled the Ernest Coursey mural, a beautifully crafted artwork now displayed at the employee entrance of City Hall. The mural stands as a lasting reminder of his dedication, leadership, and unwavering love for the City of Atlantic City.
Every brushstroke in the mural represents the vibrancy and warmth that Coursey brought to City Hall. His influence continues to echo in every department, inspiring a new generation of city workers to serve with the same humility and purpose.
Mayor Marty Small Sr. and city officials expressed their gratitude and admiration for Coursey’s years of service and his deep-rooted passion for the community. They highlighted how his work ethic and kindness helped shape the city’s culture of care and unity.

For many, the walk and mural unveiling were emotional reminders that even though Coursey is no longer physically present, his spirit continues to guide and inspire those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
As participants walked the boardwalk, they shared stories, smiles, and moments of silence—each step a symbol of continuity and remembrance. The Coursey Cares Health and Wellness Challenge will carry on in his honor, ensuring his legacy lives through meaningful acts that promote well-being and togetherness.
Through this tribute, Atlantic City reaffirmed its appreciation for a leader who believed in people, progress, and compassion above all else.
Ernest Coursey’s light continues to shine, reminding everyone that true leadership is measured not only in words and actions but in the lasting impact left on the hearts of others.
