Atlantic City Honors One of Its Own with City Hall Building Dedication

Atlantic City continued its tradition of recognizing hometown leaders by officially dedicating Ernest D. Coursey City Hall, honoring a man who devoted decades of service to the community.

One year after his passing, Mayor Marty Small, Sr., members of the Coursey family, city and county officials, and City employees gathered to unveil new signs officially naming City Hall in Coursey's honor.

A lifelong Atlantic City resident, Coursey served as Deputy Mayor, Atlantic City Councilman, Atlantic County Commissioner, and, most recently, Chief of Staff to Mayor Small.

The dedication coincides with recent improvements to City Hall, including a major exterior painting project and additional façade enhancements. It also follows last year's opening of the Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver Plaza, reinforcing the city's commitment to honoring the public servants whose leadership has helped shape Atlantic City's future.
