Atlantic City Fire Department Celebrated Promotions of Three Dedicated Members

The City of Atlantic City recently recognized the outstanding service and dedication of three members of the Atlantic City Fire Department through a formal promotional ceremony. The event highlighted the commitment of these individuals who have consistently demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and unwavering service to the community.

During the ceremony, Mayor Marty Small Sr. administered the Oath of Office, officially affirming the new ranks of the promoted firefighters. The gathering brought together city officials, colleagues, family members, and community supporters to honor this important milestone in their careers.

Among those recognized was Kevin Munn, who was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief. His years of experience and leadership within the department prepared him for this vital role, where he would oversee operations and ensure the continued safety and efficiency of the department.

Gregory DeSantis was also honored with a promotion to Battalion Chief. Known for his dedication and ability to lead under pressure, he stepped into this position with a responsibility to guide and support his fellow firefighters during emergencies and daily operations.

Completing the trio of promotions, Matthew Myrtetus advanced to the rank of Captain. His promotion recognized his commitment to mentorship, training, and frontline leadership in serving Atlantic City residents.

The promotional ceremony was not only a celebration of these individuals but also a testament to the strength and unity of the Atlantic City Fire Department. The advancements symbolized the department’s ongoing mission to cultivate leadership and ensure the highest level of emergency response for the city.

Mayor Small, in his role as the city’s leader, emphasized the importance of honoring these milestones. By administering the oath personally, he reaffirmed the city’s support for the fire department and its members who risk their lives for the safety of Atlantic City’s residents.

The promotions reflected the values of dedication, integrity, and excellence that define the department. Each newly promoted officer carried forward the responsibility of maintaining the trust and confidence of the community they serve.

The Atlantic City Professional Firefighters NJ FMBA Local 8 also extended its congratulations, highlighting the collective support and camaraderie that unite the department and its members.
