Atlantic City Council proudly recognized Officers Glen Robinson and Alex Torres for their outstanding professionalism and quick action during a recent incident that demonstrated exceptional teamwork and dedication to duty.
While on patrol, Officers Robinson and Torres responded swiftly to a report involving an attempted vehicle theft. Thanks to their quick and coordinated response, the officers were able to identify and arrest the suspect, who was later charged with theft and burglary.
Their decisive actions not only prevented a crime from being completed but also reinforced the department’s commitment to maintaining public safety and protecting the residents of Atlantic City.
During the Atlantic City Council meeting, Officer Glen Robinson was present to receive his Certificate of Commendation, while Officer Alex Torres, who was unable to attend, was also honored for his role in the successful apprehension.

Adding a personal note to the recognition, Council President Aaron “Sporty” Randolph—whose vehicle had been the target in the attempted theft—presented Officer Torres’ commendation on behalf of the department.
Council members commended both officers for their professionalism, vigilance, and effective teamwork, which served as a model of what community policing represents in Atlantic City.
The recognition highlighted the department’s emphasis on accountability, dedication, and excellence in service to the community.
