A once-vacant property on Pacific Avenue is quickly taking shape as the Atlantic City Container Park moves closer to becoming a new destination for small businesses, entrepreneurs, arts, entertainment, and community activity in the Orange Loop.
Located at 1400 Pacific Avenue, the project is part of Atlantic City's continued development renaissance and is designed to create new opportunities for entrepreneurs while adding another unique destination for residents and visitors. The 22 shipping containers are now in place, marking a major step forward in the transformation of the property.
The project is supported by nearly $2.5 Million from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority's Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation (ART) Program and is being led by MAP 3 Partners, whose team brings experience in real estate, entertainment, redevelopment, and community engagement.
A major focus of the project is supporting small businesses by offering affordable rental opportunities for entrepreneurs looking for space to launch or expand their businesses. The container park is expected to feature a diverse mix of businesses and community uses. Outdoor gathering spaces and artistic elements are also expected to help create a distinctive atmosphere within the Orange Loop.
Among those already taking an interest in the project are participants in this year's City of Atlantic City Small Business Academy, a free program led by the city's Division of Economic Development that helps residents interested in starting or growing a business develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. For the Small Business Academy participants, the Container Park offers an opportunity to take ideas developed in the classroom and turn them into operating businesses in a growing commercial district.
The project builds on the momentum already taking place throughout the Orange Loop, which has emerged as one of Atlantic City's most active areas for independent businesses, dining, entertainment, and redevelopment. The container park adds another piece to that continued transformation.
