Atlantic Avenue Contract Awarded for Major Improvement Project

The City of Atlantic City took a significant step toward revitalizing one of its busiest corridors with the awarding of a construction contract for the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project.

During the latest City Council meeting, officials approved a contract with South State, Inc. to carry out the long-anticipated upgrades along Atlantic Avenue, covering the stretch from Tennessee to Albany Avenues. The decision marked a turning point in a project that had been in planning stages for years.

Work is scheduled to begin in October, keeping the initiative on track with the city’s outlined goals. The project aimed to address infrastructure concerns while creating a safer and more accessible roadway for both motorists and pedestrians.

Planned improvements included roadway paving, traffic signal synchronization, and the installation of surveillance cameras to enhance public safety. Officials emphasized that the upgrades were designed not only to improve traffic flow but also to increase security and efficiency.
