Atlantic City’s Senior Services team brought energy and innovation to the Police Athletic League (PAL) with a tech-focused learning session designed specifically for local seniors. This hands-on class, held just 21 hours ago, was more than just a workshop—it was a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and community spirit.
The featured topic for the day was Canva, a user-friendly design platform widely used to create engaging flyers, posters, and, most importantly, party invitations. With a summer full of social events ahead, seniors were eager to learn how to bring their ideas to life through digital design.
Guided by a patient and enthusiastic instructor, participants were introduced to the basics of layout, color choices, text tools, and image uploading. By the end of the session, many had already created their first digital flyers and were brimming with ideas for future projects.
What stood out most was the seniors' attitude—Always Ready, Willing, and absolutely ABLE to embrace new technology. Their enthusiasm transformed the room into a space of lively discussion, helpful peer support, and moments of personal achievement.
The session not only taught design skills but also fostered confidence in using digital tools. Several participants expressed excitement about sharing their new knowledge with friends and even using Canva to promote upcoming family events or neighborhood get-togethers.
Beyond the screen, the event served as a reminder of the power of lifelong learning. Atlantic City’s Senior Services continues to show that age is never a barrier when it comes to acquiring new skills and exploring new adventures.
This tech class was the latest in a series of engaging programs organized for Atlantic City’s older residents—programs that uplift, educate, and connect.

The day wrapped up with smiles, laughter, and of course, talk of some Great Parties coming up this summer—parties that will surely feature beautifully designed, senior-made invitations.
