On Wednesday, March 12th, AC Rec brought local youth to Boardwalk Hall to witness an exciting matchup in the 2nd round of the MAAC Championship. The game featured Rider University, with former AC Viking Tank Byard, facing off against Quinnipiac University, where another AC Viking alum, Umar Shannon, served as Assistant Coach.
It was an incredible opportunity for the youth to see hometown athletes competing at the collegiate level, inspiring them to pursue their own dreams. AC Rec remains committed to providing enriching experiences that connect young people to positive role models — especially when those role models once walked the same paths they do today.
The event wasn’t just about basketball; it was about showing the next generation what’s possible with dedication and hard work. Watching former AC Vikings succeed on a bigger stage made a lasting impact on everyone in attendance.
