The City of Atlantic City's Multicultural Services wrapped up a meaningful week of outreach, celebration, and community-building with a series of events aimed at fostering inclusion and cultural awareness across the city.

The week began with Consulate Day, where representatives from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of Bangladesh visited Atlantic City to offer direct assistance to local residents. The initiative made essential services more accessible for Bangladeshi community members, eliminating the need to travel to larger cities for support. It was a welcomed opportunity for many to connect with consular staff and receive guidance on important documentation and services.

Midweek, the department took part in the city’s annual Juneteenth Celebration, a vibrant event recognizing the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Staff from Multicultural Services hosted an interactive table filled with engaging take-home items such as coloring pages, magnet kits, and temporary tattoos, allowing families to engage with the holiday’s themes of freedom, resilience, and heritage in a fun and educational way.

To cap off the week, Multicultural Services organized a community trip to Philadelphia, where participants explored two of the city’s most iconic cultural hubs: Reading Terminal Market and Chinatown. From tasting diverse cuisines to experiencing the sights and sounds of a different urban environment, the trip offered both enjoyment and a chance to connect with one another beyond city borders.

“Each of these events served as a reminder of our city's rich diversity and the importance of fostering spaces where everyone feels seen, supported, and celebrated,” said a representative from the department.

The week’s programming underscored the department’s ongoing mission to bridge communities, elevate voices, and promote shared experiences across cultural lines. With continued engagement and outreach, Multicultural Services remains dedicated to cultivating a more connected and inclusive Atlantic City.
