A New Chapter at Atlantic City's Dolphins Field

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - For generations of Atlantic City families, Dolphins Field in the Venice Park section has been a place where young athletes have built friendships, learned teamwork and discipline, made memories and proudly represented their city.

That legacy was celebrated during the grand reopening of the newly renovated Dolphins Field, as the City of Atlantic City joined the Atlantic City Dolphins community for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of a $1.33 million renovation project.

Among the most meaningful guests in attendance joining Mayor Marty Small. Sr. were former Dolphins players, cheerleaders and coaches, many of whom returned to the field to support today's young athletes.

Their presence underscored what makes the renovation so special. The people who once took the field as young Dolphins players were able to return years later and see a new generation receiving the same opportunity to create memories of their own.

The project, funded through New Jersey’s Green Acres Program, brings significant improvements to the facility, including a new artificial turf playing surface, upgraded lighting, new fencing and goal posts, renovations to the concession stand and locker rooms, new storage sheds, landscaping improvements and ADA accessibility upgrades, including new sidewalks. The improvements represent another significant investment in Atlantic City’s public spaces and recreational facilities.

Mayor Small has consistently emphasized the importance of creating opportunities and positive spaces for the city’s youth and seniors, two groups that remain a priority for the Small Administration. Dolphins Field is another example of that commitment, providing young people with a safe, modern place to compete, grow and build lasting relationships.

As former Dolphins players looked on, the grand reopening of Dolphins Field became a celebration of legacy, community and opportunity, and a reminder that investing in Atlantic City means investing in the people who will carry its future forward.
