Atlantic City is celebrating a successful first season with blue accessibility mats helping more residents and visitors enjoy the city’s beautiful shoreline.
The mats provided a firm, accessible pathway across the sand at accessible beach entrances, making it easier for individuals who use wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility devices to get closer to the water and enjoy a day at the beach. The addition proved to be a valuable enhancement to Atlantic City’s existing beach accessibility efforts.
With miles of free, beautiful beaches, accessibility is an important part of making Atlantic City a welcoming destination for everyone. This summer’s improvements helped make one of the city’s greatest assets more accessible and enjoyable for people of all abilities.
The success of the program is another example of the City’s commitment to bettering the quality of life for residents while making Atlantic City an even more welcoming place to live, work and invest.
