This past weekend, the City of Atlantic City hosted its first-ever Youth Carnival, transforming Bader Field and the Skate Zone into a lively festival ground for children, teens, and families. The event, which was completely free and open to the public, was designed to bring the community together in celebration of local youth and family life.
The day unfolded under sunny skies, welcoming guests with an exciting mix of games, music, and laughter. Children raced from one classic carnival game to another, bouncing between inflatable attractions, and pausing to enjoy vibrant face painting stations and talented jugglers weaving through the crowd.
The scent of delicious food filled the air, with families enjoying everything from pizza to popcorn, contributing to the cheerful atmosphere. Laughter echoed through the venue as kids tried their hand at ring toss, mini-golf, and other interactive activities set up to encourage both play and social connection.
Throughout the day, live entertainment added energy and excitement, drawing crowds to stages and performance areas where local talent brought the carnival spirit to life. Jugglers dazzled young spectators, while music played in the background, adding a rhythmic heartbeat to the event.
The success of the Youth Carnival was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Atlantic City Youth Services, AC Rec, and the Mayor’s Office of Special Events. Their collaboration ensured a smooth and well-coordinated experience for everyone in attendance, from volunteers to first-time visitors.
The massive turnout, emphasizes how events like these strengthen community bonds and offer meaningful, joyful experiences for young residents and their families.
Mayor Marty Small Sr. and city staff engaged with the crowd, thanking volunteers, and enjoying the festivities alongside residents, underscoring the City’s ongoing commitment to youth-centered programming.
This inaugural event marked more than just a day of fun, it showcased what’s possible when local government, services, and residents come together to support young people and provide safe, joyful spaces for them to thrive.
As the sun set over Bader Field, families left with memories, smiles, and hopes that the Youth Carnival would become a cherished annual tradition for Atlantic City.
