Opening of the Sea and Beach Ball Drop

Kick off summer 2026 in style outside Resorts Hotel Casino on Friday, May 22nd with a full afternoon of fun!

It starts with the Opening of the Sea Ceremony at 1:00 PM where Mayor Marty Small, Sr. along with Atlantic City Public Safety leaders "unlock" the ocean for the summer season, then toss a Memorial Day wreath into the water.

Then, at 5:00 PM, it's the tradtional Beach Ball Drop where 5,000 beach balls fall from overhead onto the world famous Atlantic City Boardwalk.
