Atlantic City Northside Restaurant Exhibit Opening Reception

The Atlantic City Northside Restaurant Exhibit explores the history of 649 N. New York Avenue, a location that today is home to New York Grocery and Deli but was once the site of several restaurants and a nightclub.

Most notably, the location was home to Rosa’s Southern Dining, a beloved restaurant that became a cultural anchor for Atlantic City’s Northside community. Known for good food, music and fellowship, the restaurant welcomed residents and visitors alike, including celebrities such as Muhammad Ali.

The exhibit honors Rosa Mikelonis, now 94, and celebrates her remarkable life, contributions to Atlantic City history and the lasting legacy of Rosa’s Southern Dining.
