Mike Hauke is an Atlantic City entrepreneur, restaurateur, and innovator best known as the founder of Tony Boloney’s and co-founder of Mad Mutz Laboratory. What began in 2009 as a modest convenience store evolved under Hauke’s leadership into a destination restaurant known for bold, creative food and an unmistakable personality.
Hauke’s entrepreneurial vision led to the creation of Tony Boloney’s signature flavored mozzarella sticks, which became so popular that he and business partner Michael Burns launched Mad Mutz Laboratory to bring the product to a much larger audience. The brand went on to gain national and international attention, including an appearance on ABC’s Shark Tank.
Hauke’s commitment to creativity, risk-taking, and local entrepreneurship has helped establish Tony Boloney’s and Mad Mutz Laboratory as examples of how Atlantic City small businesses can grow from local concepts into brands with a global reach.
In 2025, Hauke and his businesses were recognized by the City of Atlantic City’s Economic Development Division with the Innovation Award through the City’s Keep It Local campaign, honoring their contributions to Atlantic City’s small business community and entrepreneurial culture.
